One of my books says that babies practice skills they are trying to master in their sleep. I remember when Madeline started practicing rolling over. It was when she was still in the bed with me...maybe 3 months old? I held her in my arms every night. I slept propped up with her propped up in the crook of my arm and I would not move all night (we started this because she had reflux and had to be propped up for 30 min. after she ate). Anyway, she started turning into my body, trying to roll over. A few weeks later we had her moved to her bed and she was rolling like a pro. Tucker started this rocking thing in his bed. He has been pulling his legs up underneath him for a long time- he scrunches his body up when he is chasing his thumbs around his bed.
Sooo...I will try and get a picture or two tomorrow. It is crazy. Madeline didn't crawl- really crawl- until she was 10 months old (but she said "dog" at 12 months). I think we are going to have a gross motor skills child in Tucker. Madeline was a fine motor skills baby. We'll see...
