Good Days

On hot summer days when there is not much to do Madeline and I like to make cupcakes. We make the mix, bake them and decorate. Tucker took a really long nap on this day so we had a lot of time together. And then Tucker got to enjoy our creation!

He looks like Bluto from Popeye!

He loved squishing the icing between his fingers. Aunt Lindsey gave this cool Brooklyn onesie to Madeline when she was a baby!

My cheeseball cowboy. Tucker loves horses. Just like his Daddy, Papa, and cousin Alyssa. He was saying "yee haw!"

He loved giving "Sissy" a ride on his horse- or as he says- "huss!" It is so sweet to hear him talk to his sister too. He loves her so much and is always ready to laugh at her. She loves to entertain him and I think it must be so good for her little heart to always have someone around to laugh at her when she is acting goofy...even after Mommy and Daddy have stopped laughing Tucker is! When she is gone he walks around the house looking for her saying "Ssssissy?!"

Madeline has been pulling out her babies again. I am so happy. We transitioned way too fast from baby dolls to barbies. I think she quit playing with baby dolls after Tucker came because she was probably getting enough of the real thing! The other night she cried to her Daddy and I because she doesn't want Tucker to grow up. She was sobbing about us not having a baby in our family anymore. I tried to convince Tyler that that meant we needed to have another...so far he is not convinced!

Our happy family. Tucker loves to sit with Sissy and watch cartoons.

Tyler Turned 30 (finally)!

My young husband finally turned 30! It was a fun day- Playtime Pizza and a Travs game!

Tucker is always up for some cake but prefers to just eat the icing- just like mom!

Tyler turned 30 and my wonderful niece Alyssa turned 15!

Tyler in his Sunday afternoon attire...perfect for a picture cake!

Madeline going for the icing!

Tucker waiting for the party with his buddy Elmo. He LOVES Elmo. He says "Ehllmow" constantly. Pretty precious!

This was taken on an afternoon outing to our area park. I love our town so much . We had just been to a community fish fry benefiting our Lion's club. I thought Madeline looked so pretty with the light in her hair.

Catching up...

It has been so long since I have posted on the blog on any kind of consistent basis so I wanted to post some pictures and play catch up...

The first pictures are from my first 5k. It was the Women Can Run graduation. We worked really hard for 10 weeks to build up to being able to run a full 5k. My running buddies are Ruth and Heather. We did it! We ran the entire time and it was such a proud moment for all of us!

My sweet friends Rebekah and Brandy surprised me at the finish line- of course I cried! It was so touching!

And of course my biggest supporter and best friend was there. He was so sweet and proud of my accomplishment! The race was May 8, 2010. Since then I have run another 5k and an 8k benefiting St. Jude. Last night I signed up to race in the Memphis Marathon. I will be running the half. Everything I read says to set small goals and make your goals public so that others will hold you accountable. Well, this is as public as I get so everybody hold me to it! I've already paid my registration fee so I know my husband will hold me to it!

Here are a couple of pictures from our community "Family Fest." A yearly event that hosts bands, amusement rides, games and foot longs! Madeline ate the hole thing! makes my stomach hurt to think about it!

A post for years from now

Tonight we took Madeline to see Toy Story 3. It was much more touching than I expected it to be! I won't say anything else about the movie right now because I am sure there are many who have not seen it but...

As we were leaving the theater I was carrying Madeline on my hip and she said, "I'm not ever going to leave you and Daddy because you are my very best friends."

Just wanted to make sure and document that. Tonight Madeline is 4 and a 1/4 and everything is perfect.

And as a side note- my stuffed animals got to come out of their box (in the top of Madeline's closet) and sleep with her tonight. The Velveteen Rabbit and Uni are very happy I am sure.
