Tuesday night I asked Tyler to pick up a couple of things from the grocery store including a cake mix so that Madeline and I could bake a cake together on Wednesday- just for fun.
Wednesday morning she got up and came into the kitchen to help me make her chocolate milk and saw the cake mix. It was a strawberry mix and white icing with sprinkles included. She started jumping up and down throwing a little fit because she wanted a chocolate cake. I told her to stop and tried to have a conversation with her about being thankful for what we have and that Daddy had gotten her that mix because it was pink and pink was her favorite color. I told her she should call Daddy and tell him 'thank you' instead of throwing a fit. She kept being ugly so I told her to go and sit in time out.
She came back into the kitchen and told me she was ready to be nice. I asked her if she was going to talk about chocolate cake any more and she said no. I got her Daddy on the phone and handed it to her and she said, "Thank you for the cake Daddy but I wanted chocolate cake." Tyler laughed and she hung up with him and I picked her up and showed her that the icing had sprinkles. That got her excited and I carried her to the living room. She said she was going to go and think about what she wanted to wish for. Then she gestured like she had an idea and said, "I know what I'm going to wish for!" I asked, "what?" and she said- "CHOCOLATE CAKE!"
