At this moment Madeline and I are sitting on the couch together watching Babar. She is eating do-nuts and I am drinking coffee. She is in her favorite nightgown and will probably stay in it for as long as I let her. She loves to have time in the mornings to do nothing. I do too. Here are some photos from our busy (good) week.

Last Friday night was the annual Fishing Derby which Mom and Dad help sponsor every year. Madeline was excited to go but so exhausted from her first week of school. Tucker was tired too. Madeline caught 2 pretty good size fish but was more interested in dancing and singing around the lake so her Daddy did a lot of Barbie pole fishing and Tucker wrestling. We left early.

I think this was last Monday. Tucker slept until 10:30! Our a/c was out Sunday and part of Monday so it was WARM in the house but we had his fan going full blast. He thought it was funny to not have pj's on.

I sent Madeline to school in dog ears one day. She looked so precious. I don't usually see how much everyone says she looks like me but here she does look just like I did in kindergarten.

Madeline acts like a crazed animal every afternoon after school. I know that she has to be so proper and behaved at school so when she gets home she is wild. This was at about 7:30 one night when I would usually start ushering them to bed. Instead, she wanted to ride bikes and they ended up getting soaked by Tyler with the water hose. They had a great time.

I love her little uniforms. So sweet.

Tuesday I got to go and help in the office at school. I had lunch with Madeline and her friends. We had some serious battles about her eating just the "junk" out of her lunch and not the good stuff but after a long talk about how fortunate she is to HAVE a lunch and a threat to not send cookies any more she ate all of her sandwich and apples this week before any of the other things I pack. YAY!

Last weekend I had no rules about what she wore. So a purple princess gown was the choice for the entire weekend. Fine by me.

Madeline makes me cards or books nearly every day about how much she loves me. This one says "I love you 'mome', Madeline." The picture is of a rainbow, the sun, sky, and Serendipity. One of my favorite book characters when I was little and now, of course, one of Madeline's favorites too.

Madeline and I.
It was a great week!
