My Ball! Marble!

Just wanted to share a conversation that the kids had this morning on the way to school. Madeline collects pretty rocks and marbles and keeps them int he cup holder in her car seat. A lot of mornings Tucker and Madeline have conversations with her pet rock "Rocco." But this morning she was excited about a marble she found. Tucker wanted her to give it to him so they went back and forth with "MY BALL" and "NO! SISSY'S BALL!" for several blocks and then Madeline said, "Tucker, actually, it's not a ball- it's a marble. And it's my marble. You'll have to find your own marble." The screaming stopped and Tucker said, "Okay, Sissy." Then Madeline said, "Can you say marble? Say mmm-arble." They went back and forth several times practicing "marble" and then Madeline gave him a "good job, Tucker" for getting it right. It was an aggravating situation diffused by the kids. When the back and forth screaming was going on I decided to just not say anything and try and tune them out. I was so happy and surprised that they worked it out themselves. Madeline and Tucker really do love each other. I'm looking forward to this summer and just having them home and seeing how they interact with one another. It makes me so happy that they can communicate with each other. And I can't count how many times this week Tucker has said, "I wuh you Sissy." I feel very thankful today.
