Marriage

I don't even know how the conversation started...but Madeline shared her insights about marriage with us tonight on our way home from a great (but quick) trip to Garvin Woodland Gardens. It went something like this:

"Someday when Tucker grows up he will find a wife to marry.

Someday when I grow up a man will find me and ask me to marry him and I'll say, 'What's your name?' and he will tell me his name and I will marry him (this is when Tyler piped in that that was pretty much how things had gone for he and I).

And someday if Tucker asks me to marry him I'll say, 'okay' and I'll marry little Tuck."

We have gone over this before and it never seems to sink in. So for now I'll just feel happy that she loves her brother.

We had a great afternoon. I needed it. Spring Break and this past week I have been so busy with work that I have had a HUGE amount of Mom guilt. But I am thankful for the business.

Madeline's party is tomorrow. She had a sweet little sleepover last week but tomorrow is the big day- her first girl AND boy birthday party. The weather is supposed to be beautiful.

I'll post pics of Mad's party (and maybe someday I'll get around to posting Tucker's too).

  1. Funny... we had a marriage talk a few nights ago at the dinner table! Avery said that her boyfriend is Caleb Ross (our neighbor). I teasingly asked her if she was going to marry him and she said yes. Molly chimes in and says... if you marry him you'll have to kiss him on the lips. Joey and I look at each other and I asked "where did you get that idea from" Molly replies "well, I saw it on TV" We don't watch much TV at our house so I was confused. We do watch movies in the car and the one that was in there was The Little Mermaid. We've just started renting big kids movies a few weeks ago. I think after that episode we might go back to dora, curious george, mickey mouse clubhouse types of movies.
