Chicken

Sunday night we grilled out, Tyler got a new grill for his birthday. I keep trying to decide if this is what started her wheels turning. Madeline has stopped eating meat- for the most part. Yesterday she explained to me, "where chicken and meat comes from..."

"The man goes to the florist and buys some chickens. He brings the chickens home and cooks them before the wife sees. And then, cock a doodle doo! We have chicken!"

When I stopped laughing I asked her why she thought the man cooked the chicken before the wife could see and she told me that it was because, "Chickens are from nature and we shouldn't kill nature." We've been watching Bambi a lot. She just saw it for the first time recently. It definitely left an impression on me about hunting when I was a child. My girl comes up with some deep thoughts sometimes...

And I have this to say about all of it- I am happy for Tyler to go to the florist and bring home the bacon, flowers, chicken, whatever- as long as he is cooking it I am a happy wife. Here's to summer- happy grilling everyone!
