I hope Madeline isn't mad at me for not having a blog when she was a baby- Tucker is 4 months old today and Madeline is almost 39 months old. :-)
After the first 2 and a half or 3 months with a newborn, time flies. Tucker is so grown up! Yesterday he spent time in his exersaucer and loved it. He immediately started spinning things and grabbing exactly what he wanted. His hand eye coordination is amazing to me. Madeline was an early baby and seemed to do these things a lot later. I am surprised every day by how alert and aware Tucker is. Madeline was an early talker, though. We joke that Tucker will probably just grunt and point until he is 3. He also discovered yesterday that he can scream. It is this funny- from the gut- scream. A low, little boy sound. He keeps his head level with his body when pulled to sitting and loves to "stand" on his feet.
Madeline is a smart girl, she is well spoken and funny. I was watching her yesterday though and it occurred to me that she is still reaching developmental milestones as well. While playing, she has always sorted, grouped, and organized things- she is very particular (some might say high maintenance)- but yesterday I thought she did something really smart. She was trying to move a bunch of her toys from one place to another and instead of carrying them one by one and making several trips she got a basket and loaded everything into the basket to move. For mother's day she drew on my card and had perfectly drawn happy faces with long and short legs with little circle feet. She told Tyler that they were a big person with long legs and a little person with short legs. Last night we watched her new "Tinkerbell" DVD and it came with a little booklet of Tinkerbell merchandise. Madeline went through the book and said, "Mommy! We need this Tinkerbell and all of her friends the fairies and the Tinkerbell kitchen and this is what I call an EMERGENCY!" Is consumer behavior a developmental milestone?
