Haircuts

Madeline didn't have her first haircut until she was 2 or so. So she is still a little afraid of having it cut. She's old enough to understand that scissors are sharp and what "cut" means so she is usually afraid that it will hurt. Her other concern is that they will cut it short and, as we all know, princesses don't have short hair. She used to pull her hair around the front of her neck so that it laid closely at her shoulders and tell me that she loved her long princess sides (I guess meaning the long parts that hung down in front). A couple of weeks ago it was time for a trim so off we went and I made the big decision to cut off Tucker's baby mullet.
He did great. He was annoyed when she sprayed his hair with a water mist but other than that he had a great time playing in his taxi cab and he looks oh so handsome. I miss playing with that long hair though!
Madeline did great too. She ate 2 suckers and 10 animal crackers throughout the process and came out with a really sweet haircut with little layers in the front (on her princess sides).
